Our Mission

Use the practice of yoga and its elements of meditation, breathwork and movement to aid in recovery from the effects of cancer and its treatment, not only on the body, but the mind, spirit and heart - specifically for women with breast cancer - in a truly soulful journey.

Soulful Healing Yoga Founder

Melissa

Melissa Walker is a 500-hour E-RYT, certified through Yoga Alliance, with years of experience teaching private and group classes. She mentors yoga teachers and assists with teacher training programs.

Melissa uses her training in restorative, yin and vinyasa yoga, along with special attention to trauma-sensitive, yoga for our first responders, and grief yoga to cultivate a healing experience on the mat, whether it be in body, mind or breath – ideally, all of the above.

Melissa felt an unexplainable call to yoga service, particularly to guide those with breast cancer. As a writer, many years ago, she shared the stories of breast cancer survivors, each of whom expressed their wishes to practice yoga but felt limited because of their diagnosis or physical capabilities. Melissa is determined to remove those limitations and use her knowledge to create a space where people can come to heal body, mind and spirit.
